What is Hypnotherapy
About hypnotherapy - Most neuroscientists agree that our subconscious is made up of nearly 90% of our mind. Since birth, it has learnt from associations. The subconscious is not logical it doesn't reason things out and it certainly doesn't have willpower, it's basically a programme that's purely reactive. . This is why it's often hard to make change on a conscious level. When the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are in conflict the subconscious mind will definitely win. It is your subconscious mind that is responsible for anxiety, fears, phobias or addictions, which the conscious mind is often unaware of.
We are more often than not living our lives on autopilot...that is to say, we are often not consciously thinking about what we are doing. Let's use driving as an example. How many times have you driven a familiar route and on reached your destination you realise you can't really remember how you got there, does that sound familiar? Would you be surprised to discover that it was your subconscious mind driving the car, freeing up your conscious mind to think of other things.
As hypnotherapists, we help you access your subconscious mind to create new associations that are in line with your conscious desires. And when you consider that it's a natural state that we're in a lot of the time, you discover that there is nothing magical or weird about hypnosis...it's just a way of accessing your subconscious often utilizing the relaxed state.
You'll be pleasantly surprised to discover that hypnosis is an extremely relaxing and enjoyable experience and I will even teach you how to hypnotize yourself.
Hypnosis With Suggestion Therapy (Also known as clinical hypnosis)
About hypnotherapy - Suggestion therapy is what most people (including references in the press and on television) are referring to when they talk of ‘hypnotherapy’.
Suggestion therapy is exactly as is sounds: you will be relaxed into a very light hypnotic state (most people don't even feel 'hypnotised') and whilst you are in this lovely, calm relaxed state, I will give you some very positively-worded suggestions that will affect whatever symptom(s) you are consulting about. As well as the positive suggestions, you will be taught how to visualise the outcome you desire and you will be given strategies to think and act more positively.
For example, if you were consulting for exam nerves, you would be given suggestions such as 'you are going to feel calm and at ease, relaxed and confident, before and during your exam; you would then be guided through the run up to the exam and taking the exam (whilst you are in the hypnotic state) In effect, you would be 'rehearsing' the outcome that you DESIRE, rather than 'worrying about what might go wrong'.
On leaving the session you will be feeling very positive, calm and relaxed, and feeling very differently towards whatever situation or event you were consulting for.
A session of suggestion therapy with me at East Cheshire Hypnotherapy costs just £65.
Hypno-Analysis
Some deep rooted emotional problems, anxiety, depression to name but a few, often respond very well to this type of hypnotherapy. Hypno-analysis, a talking therapy, is not about helping you 'control', or 'manage' your problem. the aim is to help you (process unresolved emotional conflicts) which are often beyond your conscious awareness but are having a detrimental effect upon you. Once processed and reframed, all symptoms dissipate allowing you to live a happier more productive life.
This therapy allows 'you' the client to do most of the talking, in fact you discover for yourself the underlying cause of your problem, all I will do is show you how, and support and help you all the way.
There is no reason why anyone should put up with something 'inside themselves but outside of their control'.
Hypno-analysis will take between 4-12 sessions. Some people can reach release (surprising & liberating enlightenment) with 4 sessions, others can take longer - it all depends on the individual. I am dedicated to getting you through analysis as quickly and easily as possible.
